"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."
`Leonardo da Vinci`
My life is getting ready to become a lot more simple. Something I'm not sure I've ever experienced, and I've got to say I'm getting pretty excited. Now, I will still be working from home, but it's different. I've spent the past 18 years in media...high pressure, deadline oriented, fast paced. The funny thing is, I loved it! And most of all, I love the people I work with. But four years ago this July, I married the most amazing person and I'm ready to slow down and spend my life with him.
I feel very blessed that God has given me this opportunity. It was funny, when I resigned from my career, a few people told me I would regret it. I would get bored and want to come back. But those who know me...really know me, asked what took me so long. They know how important my family is to me. One of my dear friends who is a VP at the paper said it best.
Companies replace you within weeks... families miss you forever... I think that says it all.

Kelly,
Knowing you..and I think I do..you will have a couple of things happen along the way. One is you will wind up doing a job that will be second to none in success. You have a way of being tenacious with projects that lends itself to any job you do being done the very best way possible.
A second happening I think you will experience is you will wonder "when did I find time to work at my other job?" I predict you will be as busy/busier than before. Different things..different emphasis..different rewards..but..
you will be busy.
Finally, I think you will be as happy as you've ever been. The reason will not be because of doing something different. You loved your job. You will love this too. It will be because you've learned to look inside yourself and to the Lord. Good for you.
How's that for a father-in-law who can't help preaching. :)
I think that's awesome! I love reading your comments. You and Mary both always say the right thing, at just the right time.
I think you are probably right on target when you say I will be busier than ever. I've heard that from several people who work from home.
But the thing you are the most right about...is my relationship with God. And I feel like this will be a great opportunity to really find myself.
Every day I see more and more of you in Brett. Makes me even more thankful that I married him. :)
Love you guys,
KB
Kelly,
I'm excited for you and your new venture!
It's obvious just watching you how important family is to you, and to get to be home more will be amazing!
Keep us posted on all that's going on.
Melody
Thanks Melody. I'm excited, but scared at the same time. I "think" that is probably normal after being in one career for 18 years.
I am so blessed to have this opportunity and can't wait to see what is ahead. Sounds like you have a new and exciting challenge in front of you as well. Good luck and let's stay in touch!
Kelly...you are entering into a season where your identity is going to be re-shaped. I have been praying for you and I am actually very excited to see how God refines you. I want to challenge you to step into the pain of understanding and re-learning who you are..without a status, title, or paycheck. I am curious to see what you will look like when the dust settles, you have spent some time before your Father and found your identity in Christ. Col. 3:3-5
We love you deeply,
Blake and all my girls..
