Count down to baseball...

Three days until our baseball life starts again. BL is leaving for spring training in Arizona on Friday. We are going out to visit him March 23-25 and then he will be assigned to a team around April 1. He won't know until he gets to Arizona where he will play this coming season. We'll keep you posted.

Then there's the little league Royals. JB has decided he wants his team to be the Royals like his big brother. He has been practicing at home with dad and it is hilarious. He is really serious about it and even told BL tonight that he can do something that BL can't...switch hit. Dad has been working with him and he hits as well from the left side as he does from the right. If he keeps that up, he will be in high demand...and he's only 4! The funny thing is to see him all decked out in baseball pants (with belt), blue socks, cleats, batting gloves, MLB sweatbands and his hat on backwards. He walks around like he is king of the hill. After he hit off the tee in the backyard the other day, he came in the kitchen and said, "give me five, mom" haha He is so cute! His team now consists of JB, Jack, JR, JP, Jacob and his little brother Beau, Kiona and Hailey. All but JR are from daycare. JB is pretty excited, although we've had to do some talking about the girls being on the team. He wasn't too keen on that idea. He reminds me so much of BL when he was that age...takes it very seriously and likes to do well.

Speaking of doing well, Sierra is doing great in dance. She has a recital coming up late spring so they are working on their dance right now. Sierra is one of the youngest in class, but one of the best. Although, I may be a little prejudice.

Megan is doing great...she is moving in with her dad this weekend. She is trying to save money so she can buy a house.

We'll keep you posted on all the kids!

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a great day! I have 4 beautiful, healthy children and a wonderful husband. What more could I ask for!

We have three trips on the horizon. First, we are going on a 7-day cruise in March with Brett's company. Then sometime in March, we are headed to Arizona for BL's first major league spring training! Then in early June, we are headed to the Riviera Maya in Cancun for Dede's wedding. It's at a beautiful resort. I'm really looking forward to getting away!

Last night, we took Valentine presents over to the little ones and left them on Ali & Jerry's front porch (JB sometimes has a meltdown so we didn't go to the door). Then we called the kids and told them to go look out the front door. We heard them screaming on the phone...it was great! JB gets on the phone and thanks us for the gifts and then asks daddy why he didn't leave him a dollar. haha

We have a new baseball player in the house. Starting in March, JB is now signed up to play tee-ball and Brett is one of the coaches. JB's best friend, Jack, is also on the team and his dad, Matt, will help Brett coach. Matt played at UCO. I think BL is really excited that we are starting him so early, but it is very low-key. They only play seven games and they don't even keep score. This is only to give them a sense of the game and hopefully they will learn a thing or two in the process. How could they not with that great coaching :) Look at our oldest! We will make sure everyone is aware of the games so they can come watch. Be sure and bring your camera, this one, you won't want to miss!

Everything else is great. I am very blessed with a wonderful husband and father. I must have done something right to deserve all of this!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Life Update

We're back from Las Vegas (and not broke). We had a good time while we were there, but 5 days is difinately long enough! I spent most of my days in marketing seminars and Brett, well, let's just say he found his way to the casino while I was working. Actually, he did take his laptop and worked from the room while we were there. It was a little difficult leaving the nice weather to come back to the freezing rain last week, but we knew we were getting the little ones the next day so we were ready.

Kids are good. We took Sierra to her Open House at school last night. She loves school and does a really good job. She and Megan are our "pleaser" children. Megan kept JB while we were at Open House and they went shopping and then by McDonalds. She always tells us how different he is when she has him by herself. I think all kids are like that...there's just something about them acting up when their parents are around. They had fun together and there are always a lot of "JB" stories to tell when you spend time with him. When Brett picked JB up from daycare today he told him that he was going to marry Regan. She asked him today. Brett said, "but I've never met Regan" and JB told him he could meet her at the wedding. haha He has been really good and has grown up so much. Brandon is still doing lessons and told me tonight that he is starting to turn people away he has so many. He not only does baseball lessons, he is now doing strength and agility lessons. He came over to watch the Super Bowl with us Sunday evening, but that night came down with a stomach virus or the flu and was very sick. He is feeling better now, but still a little weak.

Brett's work is moving into their new office this week. It is just down the street from their old office but much bigger. I just can't believe how much they've grown. Brett still loves his job and is very good at what he does.

My work is busy as usual. We have an event this Friday (SOHO Expo - Small Office/Home Office) and we have coordinated the entire event from conception, to sales, to logistics in our department. It has been pretty time consuming on top of everything else so I'm ready for it to get here. We have another big event right on the heels of this one in March (Health Fair).

Life as we know it.

Back to normal

Seems like we're finally getting back to normal. The snow is starting to melt and people are actually starting to act civil again. The grocery stores will have milk and bread again and schools will open back up. I was getting so stir crazy in the house. Brett and I made a deal that we would trade off running errands. Our Tahoe is great in this weather, but the Lincoln, not so much. We are talking about trading it in for a second utility vehicle this spring...I'm ready.

SB & JB are both feeling better. They just got out of the bath and got their pj's on for the evening so I'm trying to hurry so I can go lay with JB and watch Tarzan. Sierra is watching Deal or No Deal with dad...one of her favorites. She always wants them to take a risk and keep playing, it's funny to watch her.

MB, thanks for the email explaining why you can't post. We miss reading your blog because you do such a great job of telling us whats going on in your life. Hopefully you will be back up and running soon.

RC, thanks for the email but still, nothing. I tried sending another one and it came back. Not sure what to do now. Call me sometime and we'll figure it out.

As for everyone else...I hope you start blogging soon (that means you too sweetie, BRB) because I think this is an awesome way to journal our lives.

Round II

I'm having flash backs of last weekend. Here we go again, round II of Oklahoma Ice Storm 2007. Only in Oklahoma would someone name a storm. I just made a huge pan of chili and we have all but one (Megan) of the kids home. Unfortunately, two of them are sick. I picked up the little ones from daycare yesterday after work and they told me Sierra had been laying in the office all day long. She didn't look well. She said she had been running a fever at the other house the day before and hadn't been to the doctor yet, which didn't sit too well with dad. Now we were looking at 7pm on a Friday evening with a major snow storm headed our way and a child with a fever of 103.2. Sierra started complaining that her side hurt and she was burning up so Brett took her immediately to the Mercy After Hours Clinic while I stayed home with JB. He called me around 10pm and they were just getting in to see the dr. The strep test came back positive so after leaving the doctor and going by to get her medicine, they didn't get home until after midnight. She is sleeping right now...poor thing. And JB has a sinus infection and a cough. I just hate it when the kids are sick, I feel so sorry for them. We are all trying not to get in SB's face so we don't pass it around the house. Brett just went to the store to try and find her a puzzle or something she can do to keep her busy without a lot of physical activity. I think they are both bored too tears because they've been couped up in the house all week.

We decorated JB's room while he was gone...new bed, Superman comforter, valance and throw. We moved his furniture around so he wouldn't climb on his dresser, which was his favorite thing to do with the old bed. So this morning I walk in and find him standing on top of the dresser, getting prepared to jump off onto his bed. Which is not exactly next to his dresser. He is such a climber and is in constant motion. It's amazing he hasn't broken any bones yet. We also got him a white noise machine to help him sleep. He decided he wanted to listen to "rain" last night and I think it actually helped.

The snow/sleet hasn't hit us hard yet, but I just heard it is moving slower than expected. Guess we will be in for at least a couple of days, if not more. Hopefully it will end soon. We leave next weekend for a Marketing Conference in Las Vegas. I'm excited! Brett is going with me so we can meet up after my meetings. I'm sure he will find something to do while I'm working :)

Hope everyone is staying warm, and safe! BTW...RC, if you're reading this, you're emails keep coming back undeliverable...what's that about?
