Fall Break

What great weather for Fall Break! Sierra was out of school today and doesn't go back until Monday. Today, she and JB went to the Omniplex with their friends Monica and JR. When we got home from work, we picked all four up and they came to our house to eat pizza and we made halloween sugar cookies. I guess JB played too hard today because he fell asleep on the floor in his room. Sierra is having a blast! She and I went shopping last night and she spent some of her birthday money. She bought clothes, two pair of shoes, earrings and fake glasses. She was so proud of herself and had to come home and model everything for dad. He said she left 7 years old and came back 30! She kept saying, "I look so good" haha It's fun to watch her at this stage in her life because she enjoys dressing up. I think I mentioned Megan took her for "Diva Day" at the salon on Sunday. She also got her hair cut and absolutely loves it. She keeps saying to me...I really like my hair. It wasn't in the plan when they went, but Megan said she kept asking if she could cut her hair to her shoulders...it's not quite that short, and it looks cute.

Tomorrow is another big day for the kids. Another friend is picking them up to play all day. They're having a fun Fall Break.

Brandon will be home on Saturday. We'll keep everyone posted when he gets here.

Great Party!

Yesterday was Sierra's birthday party and it couldn't have turned out better! I think everyone she invited, came to the party. We rented a huge pink castle moon bounce and it was supposed to be delivered at 10am and picked up at 2pm (the party was from 11am - 1pm), so that gave SB & JB a few extra hours to play on it. Turned out, they delivered it at 8am and didn't pick it up until around 4pm. They had a blast! The fun part was that all the parents stayed and had pizza, cake, and Brett's famous cheese dip. Sierra got so many neat presents...cd player, IDOG, Bratz chair, pj's and a frame (from Grams & Papa)necklace from Christian (the boy she likes), dolls, a guinea pig (real one - compliments of Nanaw Margaret & Grandpa Ezra), $200 cash (to go shopping:) and today Megan is taking her to Cottonwoods Salon for Diva Day. She is getting, nails, toenails, makeup and hair done. She is really excited about going!

Yes, we finally did it. We broke down and bought a trampoline after the party. The kids had so much fun on the moon bounce, we thought they would really enjoy a trampoline. We made sure and purchase the enclosure to go along the outside and keep them from falling off. We all jumped and played until late last night. I don't think I've ever heard the kids laugh so much. Brett was doing flips, belly flops and you name it. This morning, he is paying for it. He woke up and said his body was hurting all over. Guess it's going to take a while before our bodies get used to it. Just another thing to keep us active and give us an opportunity to spend time with the kids. Can't wait until Megan & Brandon are both here...then we'll all get on it!

Well, I better wrap it up and go watch a movie with the kids on this rainy day. Brett ran to the office to do a little work and I popped some popcorn and put on a movie for the kids. I'm taking JB shopping while SB and Megan go get beautiful!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIERRA!

I can't believe our babies are all growing up!! Sierra will turn 7 years old tomorrow. Megan sent me an email today that said, sis is growing up. I still remember when she was JB's age and that seems like yesterday.

Tomorrow we are planning a big party for her. We've invited friends from the neighborhood, school and daycare. So far we've had a good response so it looks like we'll have a house full! Luckily it sounds like the weather is going to be nice because we've rented a Princess Castle moon bounce. I think the thing Sierra is most excited about is the fact that Christian, the boy she likes (who is 9 years old) is coming to her party.

On another note, we had a great trip to Phoenix last weekend. Weather was beautiful and BL was great! He is hitting .500 in Instructional League and seems to be doing really well. He will be home October 21 and will be here until January 15. The Royal's told him they are bringing him back early so he will be there (in Arizona) until Spring Training.

We will post again after the birthday party.

Headed to Phoenix

It's Friday morning at 12:00am. Both kids are asleep and I just finished packing for Phoenix. I've had so much fun with SB & JB this week. Brett left Wednesday morning and the past two nights have been "movie nights" for us. Wednesday we fixed popcorn and all sat on the couch together and watched Madagascar. That movie is hilarious! Tonight, we played outside for awhile, rode scooters and bikes and then came in. They took their bath and we watched The Wild. It's been a lot of fun.

Tomorrow I will go into the office and then take off early to head to Phoenix. We're going for the weekend to see BL. I can't wait to see him. I've never been to Surprise, AZ, but I heard it is about 20 minutes from Phoenix. It's going to be a quick trip, but we will have fun and soak up every minute. I'm sure Brett will be tired because he's been at a conference and he will be flying in to meet me.

Next weekend is Sierra's birthday and we have a big party planned for her. She has invited her friends from daycare and school and we have ordered a moon bounce for the backyard. JB keeps telling me he wants us to buy him a bungie for his birthday! haha He "bungied" at the Bethany Freedom Festival on 4th of July and loved it! I told him we might consider a trampoline and he asked me if it would have a seat that he sits in and pulls him up and down. That boy is fearless!

Happy Birthday!

Twenty-three years ago today, at 8:36am, I had a beautiful, healthy, 9lb 3oz baby boy. I was just a baby myself so it was a little scary at the time, but I look back today and think to myself how much fun I had over the years with Brandon & Megan. I wouldn't change a thing. Having both of my children at such a young age was a little challenging, but at the same time it was fun to be so young and energetic. I can't believe it's been twenty-three years.

Today he is in Surprise, Arizona celebrating his birthday without his family, but we will be there this weekend to celebrate in person. Brett is meeting me Friday evening in Arizona after he spends three days in Philadelphia at a business conference. It will be fun to see BL. I always get a little sentimental on my childrens birthdays because it really puts life in perspective. And "actually", as Pierce would say, it helps me understand just how valuable time is with our youngest two. I cherish every moment we have them because before we know it, we'll wake up and they'll be twenty-three.

Also, there are two other big birthdays in our family tomorrow. Mary (Brett's mom)will be 65, and my grandmother Mary will be 89 years old! I hope you both have a wonderful birthday. Mary, I know you will be gone on your birthday and we will be gone this weekend, so hopefully we can get together some time next week to celebrate.
